We are the Hampstead and District Group of the Ramblers' Association. We are one of nine groups within the Inner London Area and, as our name suggests, most of our members live in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington, although some come from other parts of London and surrounding counties. We are a friendly group of people who come from all walks of life and who share a love of walking.
We have a comprehensive programme of walks which cover most of Southeast England and all of which are accessible by public transport. They range in length from less than 5 to over 20 miles and in pace from slow or easy to positively fast. We aim to have a walk on every Sunday and on most Saturdays, together with a few on weekdays, mainly Wednesdays.
We also organise weekends away and longer holidays and in 2011 we had three nights on the Isle of Wight in April, five nights in Aberystwyth at the end of June and four nights in Bath over the New Year. For 2012 we are planning a five-night holiday in Keswick at the end of June and a four-night New Year break in York.
