About Our Group

E-mail Print PDF

We are the Hampstead and District Group of the Ramblers' Association. We are one of nine groups within the Inner London Area and, as our name suggests, most of our members live in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington, although some come from other parts of London and surrounding counties. We are a friendly group of people who come from all walks of life and who share a love of walking.

Descending from Bridgewater Monument towards Albury

We have a comprehensive programme of walks which cover most of Southeast England and all of which are accessible by public transport. They range in length from less than 4 to over 20 miles and in pace from easy to fast. We aim to have at least one walk each weekend but our programme also includes a few daytime or evening weekday walks.

Our walks can be found on the Walks Finder on the Ramblers Website by clicking on Group walks and events manager.

We also organise Group holidays. Forthcoming ones are a four-night New Year break in Bristol from the 28th December to the 1st January 2015 on a self-booking basis,  a three-night stay in the HF Holidays centre at Haytor on Dartmoor from the 17th to 20th April 2015 and a five-night stay in Swansea on the Gower Peninsula from the 23rd to 28th July 2015 on a self-booking basis. If you are interested or for further information please go to "Contacts" and leave a message for Jane Rosoux.

Photographs taken on Hampstead Ramblers walks can be found on the Picasa Web Album. To see them click on Web Album. Your contributions would be much appreciated in order to make the Web Album more  comprehensive and representative of the full range of walks offered by the Group (including walks on Group holidays).  If you have any photographs which you would like to be added to it - or comments or suggestions - please go to "Contacts" and leave a message for Jane Rosoux.
